Carie Hollyday-Director of Whatever You Need Me to Do

cariefamilyCarie has a long history with the Kids With Courage Foundation.  After her brother (McGwire) was diagnosed with Type 1, Carie’s mom (Daphna) started KWC.  She has been involved from the beginning.  She organized and held the first fund raising event, helped make the very first ‘Crate, Full of Courage’, now called Brave Boxes (along with many more) and has done anything and everything that was necessary to make sure all the newly diagnosed kids received a bundle of encouragement.  In Carie’s words “Kids With Courage is small, but we know our mission and we get it done.  While ‘I’ thought my dream was to be an elementary school teacher, fate stepped in.  After my brother’s diagnosis of this dreadful disease, another plan emerged—making sure the brave children and young people battling Type 1 get the support they desperately need.  I love getting to know and watching the children with Type 1 grow into amazing young people.  It is a privilege.”

What I do at Kids With Courage:
Board member. Volunteer. Help put Brave Boxes together. Organize fund-raising events.

What I like most about being involved with KWC:
Watching the Type 1 kids interact, smile and make new friends.

Caribbean
